B.A.R. = Belief -> Action -> Result

Beloved, sometimes it seems that something easily done cannot produce something amazing. But on the contrary, something that is very difficult will produce great results. This can be a misconception at times. Today’s blog will speak to that... Read on you won't regret it!

In life, both are true, however, how amazing it is to experience something that can easily be done by us that produces a great wealth of goodness. It’s the simple that we find difficult, and the difficult that we may very well find to be easier.

Task oriented people wouldn’t find doing little to receive a lot to make any sense, but I’ll show you today something amazing. Follow along as we read the verses below together.

There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews.

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!"

But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don't you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence?

We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:38-43 NIV)

Beloved, so much can be taken away from reading the above verses in scripture. It will speak many different things to many different people. Here’s my suggestion. Pray, God connect with you as you seek Him out in His Word. Read the verses twice. See what jumps out at you and captures your attention. Then speak to God about how it speaks to your current situation in your life, and try to live it out.

Here’s what the verses spoke to me. There’s two ways we can respond to God. In faith, or in disbelief. One will cause us to hurl insults at Him (antagonize the fact that He is the Savior, God and King), and the other will cause us to humble ourselves and speak up when we are in the wrong, leading to our confession of doing wrong, and asking to be forgiven (remembered by God because He is faithful, merciful and full of compassion). Amen.

There’s two roads in life. One leads to eternal separation from God because we fail to acknowledge who He really is, and the other, leads to paradise because we humbly ask Jesus to remember us. Which road are you currently heading down?

Throughout the verses above, there’s two things evident. One criminal that his punishment was just, did not exercise belief and the other, whose punishment was also just, exercised belief. The actions that followed were one of insult and the other of confession. And lastly, the result that was produced, was one of separation (Jesus doesn’t acknowledge you) and the other being saved (Jesus acknowledges you).

Jesus spoke these very words, ‘whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.’ The fact is, if we don’t acknowledge God, He won’t acknowledge us. But how wonderful it is when we acknowledge Him, by humbling ourselves; confessing our sin, and asking for forgiveness... God acknowledges us, and immediately says we will be in paradise with Him. Amen.

Beloved, if there’s one thing I am experiencing over and over in my time of struggle, it’s this— God is faithful, and filled with mercy and compassion. All we need to do is humble ourselves and confess to be forgiven... The Lord is faithful to His Word!

“if my people (all mankind), who are called by my name (created in my image), will humble themselves and pray and seek my face (confess our wrongdoings) and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV)

Let us all get our exercise on and pick up that B.A.R.

As always... YOU ARE LOVED
