Remove the gods

“You can call it a cough instead of calling it cancer, but that doesn’t make it any less deadly.” — Kyle Idleman (bestselling author of “Not A Fan”)

“Sin is sin. Idolatry is idolatry. Let us not trivialize it any further. All of it will consume us and destroy us. The remedy? The covenant God of heaven and earth and all the sea. He alone ‘can help us, direct us, satisfy us and save us.’” — F. Lugo

The second quote was inspired by Kyle Idleman’s “gods at war” in which I am currently reading. At the root of all our issues is the failure to uphold this Commandment from God Almighty: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:2-3)

Remember: Egypt is not only a geographical place in the world but it is also a “picture word” in this context for a place of slavery; a place of idol worship that kept a people from knowing and having relationship with the One True God.

Egypt was a place that had a pantheon of gods as it is in India today as well as other countries. What are these gods? How can we recognize them? It’s quite simple really. Whatever takes your time, attention and money is a god over your life. Whatever and whomever you are loyal to, is indeed your god. If it is not the Lord Jesus you’re submitting to, in which came to free us and to give us life and life in abundance, it is a god who will imprison you and rob you of every blessing and spiritual blessing the Lord God has for you in Christ. If we open our eyes to what we are truly surrounded by, the hopelessness, struggle and evil that has overtaken our world from the world the Lord God created. We would see, that we have allowed it to be overruled by gods.

“Free will is an awesome gift but it is also a great responsibility.” — Joyce Meyer

We can choose to utilize our free will to do as we like, or we can choose to use our free will to do as God has commanded. Gods will is freedom, thereby, comprehending in Him we are free, we can gather that our free will, is most significantly experienced by abiding in His Word. Amen.

Beloved, choose freedom. Choose to obey God. Choose to freely abide in Gods glorious Word by dethroning the gods in your life, and allow the One True God of heaven and earth and all the sea to take His rightful place, so that you and a people will not only know freedom and prosperity beyond human comprehension, you and they will know what it is to perpetually be in the presence of the Almighty, where there is endless joy inexplicable. If this is too difficult for you as I personally know it all too well, call on the name of Jesus to help you and strengthen you, so you can dethrone these false gods and know the true peace and joy and wonderful love of praising and worshipping the One True God. The Lord Jesus is faithful and He will come to you when you call on Him in truth, for anyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved. This is a world we ought to desire and be willing to sacrifice what currently has our attention, our wealth and our hearts, so that we would know the Lord God who is over all. How I pray, I may see a day like this in my generation. Amen.

Choose freely. Choose responsibly. As always...YOU ARE LOVED.
