Born Again

“There must be a harmony between the life and the profession.”
— Soul Winning by Charles Spurgeon

I reflect on my conversion and according to the Word of God, it is quite evident on July 3, 2009 I was born again (regenerated) by the power of the Holy Spirit indwelling in me. As the Word of life declares, “unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of heaven” (John 3:3). Beloved, do not forget to click on those words colored in gray or a reddish-brown as they expand on these words faithfully and accurately written. With that said, I now invite you into my HEART...

There is an immediate peace that comes by receiving this indwelling Spirit, however, this is certainly true as well, quickly coming with it a more resounding conviction and hatred for the sins you have committed and all the more grieving for these sins being committed solely against God. So much so, you come to loathe the sin that once controlled you and that you were once a slave to (Romans 6:16). And this hatred continues on to the great lamenting in your soul if and when you commit another sin. However, the regenerated new man (2 Corinthians 5:17) can once and for all rejoice that in Him Jesus, hallelujah, He eternally bore our sins (1 Peter 2:24) on the Cross and buried it forevermore upon His mortal body in the grave, yet eternally justified us when He rose on the third day! As Jesus, blessed be His holy name forever, died once and for all, ‘the just for the unjust’ (1 Peter 3:18) that by His death, we the believer and regenerated new creation, would ‘become the righteousness of God in Christ’ (2 Corinthians 5:21) Amen.

Second to be experienced is a wonderful and simple faith in Jesus, and though simple as it might be at first, nevertheless, in the Spirit, it is permanent; a sure thing!

This Spirit revealing the true divine nature to abide forever in a man now, no longer being a soul and a body, but also a “spirit,” (1 Corinthians 15:42-49) is none other than the Spirit that which it is written of, “and when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement” (John 16:8).

This Spirit, to God’s infinite glory, I (as well as all the regenerated by the Holy Spirit) now possess by His infinite grace. And not a moment later may I thankfully add! Now this Spirit that can only search and know the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10-12) has forevermore unveiled to me (as to all who are faithfully in and committed to Christ), that I would eternally believe that Jesus is the one and only Son of God, and that in Him alone as my faith, my testimony and my witness now declare and proclaim as truth, lies the eternal Salvation to a man. And now my heart, mind, body and soul can testify to this by praising the Everlasting God who is the blessed God forever and ever, “Blessed be His holy name forever, the providential name of Jesus, for by it and no other name in heaven, is man saved! Amen.”

  1. "...the new life and the profession." Can you explain what that means and how it's tied into your sharing? Thanks for your time and letting us into your heart.

  2. Anonymous, thank you for your comment. It’s a great question. Here’s my response:

Charles Spurgeon speaks on believers and what is their purpose in professing Christ to others in his book “Soul Winner.” And this is only possible by the “New” birth made possible by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, in this “New life” given to us through the Holy Spirit that brings the eternal Seed into a human being as witnessed in the Virgin Mary (recorded in Luke 1 starting at verse 26), our profession through this new birth and Holy Spirit is that Jesus is Lord.

So my post is about this Spirit, this New life and this profession and the evidences that go along with it.

I pray, this will further help you in your journey to know the Truth and be set free by Him. Amen.
