My True North

“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen.”   Jesus

Beloved, the above scripture out of God’s very Word has become a wonderful delight to me on this day (July 25, 2013). As I began watching a movie titled “Message in a bottle” I caught the words “True North” and it sparked this beautiful opportunity to further get to know the very heart of the Lord my God; My everything. With that said, I now invite you into my HEART...

I will open this message up with an excerpt from the movie. These are  words from the first message read that was found in a bottle:

Dear Catherine,

I’m sorry I haven’t talked to you in so long. I feel I’ve been lost… no bearings, no compass. I kept crashing into things, a little crazy, I guess. I’ve never been lost before. You were my true North. I could always steer for home when you were my home.

Such words are captivating, wouldn’t you agree?! I’m sure these very words are the wooing that many women desire to hear or read about them coming from a man.

  • True North (defined by dictionary.com using the north pole defined as an origin): the direction to the northernmost point of the earth’s axis.

The letter writer lost his wife. She passed away, and he couldn’t handle the lost. So he wrote letters and threw them out to the sea. It was symbolic of his love being lost forever.

What caught my attention, is when he said, “You were my true North. I could always steer for home when you were my home.” When I heard these words, and they’re not to be taken out of context or misconstrued as unkind, I said, “His true north was a woman. A woman who was born and would die. My true North is You Lord. I will never have to worry that you will leave me. I will never have to worry you will die. As you have done that already, and behold, you are alive forevermore!”

Beloved, when I said those words, an explosion took place. The verse in scripture above, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen” became not that of power, authority and security for me, but it became more, so much more! It became beauty and wonderment. The heart of the living God. My Beloved Jesus; My True North, was opened and revealed to me.

I became enraptured in His love for me. He is my Beloved. The One who loves me absolute and completely. The One who died for me and rose for me. The One who lives forevermore for me. The One who shall return for me. The One in whom I long to be with, that the words shall be, “You and I are One, and alive together forevermore. Amen.”

Jesus is my everything. He has saved me from loneliness, from regret, from guilt, from shame, from fear, from doubt, from hate, from seeking vengeance, from lies and being a liar, from stealing, cheating, murdering, plotting, scheming, selfishness, identity issues, father issues, mother issues, sibling issues, love issues, marriage issues, divorce issues, child lost issues, pains, struggles, trickery, deceit, anxiety, sexual issues, insomnia issues, weight issues, drug issues, food issues, relationship issues, church issues, faith issues, emotional issues, intellectual issues, physical issues, fears of the past, fears of the future, fears of the present. Issues with God, issues with Jesus Himself. Issues with sin. Issues with being a sinner. Issues with sinning even though I didn’t want to sin. Just to name a few.

JESUS IS MY TRUE NORTH

In Him I am, and by the grace of God through my Beloved Jesus, I am what I am. Amen! If you have any issues as you can clearly see that Jesus is the Savior of all issues, even those not mentioned above, this is a perfect opportunity for you to ask Jesus to become your Savior; the Savior of all your issues, and know this! I’ll be praying for you. YOU ARE LOVED.
