The other Side of the Coin: Marriage (Let Love Wait!)

“Let love like patience have it’s day and be perfected.” — F. Lugo

Attention: Ladies, beware of the man who woos you with a public spectacle of his ‘undying affectionate’ love at first for you but later does not uphold the cause of love— being with you through sickness, bad times and till death. Let the man who stands firm on and walks in the love of Christ that his very life dictates that public spectacle of love, be what you will wait upon the Lord for. With that being declared, I now invite you into my HEART...

Beloved, as I was driving today, I started to reflect on the many, many, many weddings that have been publicly displayed whether it be in the newspapers, media coverage or any other form of public presentation, and without fail, each marriage thereafter has ended up in divorce with the resolution of “irreconcilable differences.” I too, shamefully, am a member of the ever growing divorce club. It wasn’t by some fancy and extravagant show of affection, but one that equally is detestable— for personal gain. Therefore, let true love wait!

What is love, if it is not to be submissive, paying the price, laying down your life and bearing with you in all seasons of life? Truly, there is no authority and example of love other than Jesus Christ Himself! Men and women, this is for you.

  • Such love did what was demanded and necessary(Romans 5:8)

When I reflect on what love demands and what is necessary of love’s demand, I see the Cross of Christ and I am overtaken by such unconditional and sacrificial love for me, for you, for all who would call on, believe in and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior (Beloved husband and our Knight in shiny armor). Amen! I leave you with the exemplary picture of beauty of what the heavenly Father desires, for all His children when it’s concerning marriage. Such words reflect such a beautiful image: Marriage— Christ and the Church

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might (based upon two becoming one signifying a personal and intimate relationship) present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (Ephesians 5:22-33 NKJV)
