God Knows Best: A 3-Tier Blessing

Beloved, I find it absolutely comforting and amazing how the very Word of God can strengthen us and fill us with wisdom to gain knowledge of His ways and understanding of God’s character. Take a look at how the Word of the Lord brings about three tiers of blessing to us. With that being said, I now invite you into my HEART....

Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan (this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it), namely, five lords of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who dwelt in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath. And they were left, that He might test Israel by them, to know whether they would obey (genuineness of their faith) the commandments of the Lord, which He had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses. (Judges 3:1-4 NKJV emphasis added by me in italics)

What can I gather from such history? What can I gain from such insight? I must first place myself in the shoes of the people of Israel.

Though I am free in Christ, I have yet to arrive at the destination of being gathered up by my Savior, so I must battle, I must prove and be proven, and in enduring, in persevering if I do not fall away, I will be with Him fully experiencing and rejoicing in the promise land of “paradise” (Luke 23:43), Where there is no more pain, tears, sorrow, sadness or illness (Revelation 21:4).

Now here’s a question that comes to me that I’m sure you may ask yourself as well. Would the Lord intentionally allow certain things, obstacles, people, etc... to come at us and await us in order to test and by testing, strengthen our faith in Him? By the verses in the Holy text above (Judges 3:1-4) and this intimate look into the history of the people of Israel and how the Lord saw fit to prepare them to obtain victory over their enemy, we can be certain the Lord has done it and will do it. But take courage, as below awaits you, the insight the Lord gave me that would be like a very shield for us! Amen.

1. Warfare preparation (Ephesians 6). We must be built up for spiritual battle

2. Genuineness of faith— our obedience and trust in the Lord is made known in testing (James 1).

3. In victory over battle and in genuineness of faith, we are assured the spoils. (2 Timothy 2:10-12)

“Our struggles and our difficulties are rites of passage, times of testing designed to bring growth and maturity.” — Jonathan Falwell (One Great Truth) pg. 125-126/Third paragraph

At the thought of being tested by God, we may say to ourselves, “Why would God test me?” I believe the best response to this is in His very Word, ‘but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now if we have hope, it will not disappoint us, as we would have gone through the testing of our faith in the Lord and in remaining (persevering) with Him and looking towards Him through hardships, we would come to know ourselves (character) in a very distinct manner; that of one who has strong faith. Amen.

Beloved, I can speak for myself and I also will continue to speak into you as the Lord continues to speak unto me. Continue steadfast in the Lord for He is our strength and stronghold in times of trouble, and when all has been said and done, the (crown) of righteousness will await me, await you as well as others who were faithful to the very end and who have looked forward to the Lord’s return. Amen.

As always... YOU ARE LOVED.
