Be personal. Be true. Be love

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. (John 5:39 NKJV)..."I am the resurrection and the life..(John 11:25)

I love taking in the Word of God. Reading the Bible, which is the Word of God, is the platform, blueprint and forerunner for an intimate relationship with God, and you would be blessed indeed to read read read, but it should not stop there. The Bible ushers you into knowing the One True God, and you will further know Him through prayer, and what type of prayer you are praying.

Prayer is conversation with God. It's a dialogue between Creator and Creation. He hears you, and You hear Him. The more intimate you are. The more sincere you are. The more transparent you are in prayer to your God, the more you will know Him as a living breathing being of your reality, and not just a figment of history you celebrate.

As I have said before, and will say again, reciting scripture from your head is not an intimate relationship with God, it's in speaking His very breath from your heart; from the depths of all you are. No book can describe you better than you can, right Therefore, know that God Himself, being made known to you, describes Him better than the Bible could ever do.

Just as you may have read from the beginning where there was yet any books written from what we know of, it is said that Enoch "walked with God," and if you fast forward to Christ Jesus, He says this "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him [and manifest Myself to him.]"

The person asking how do you have a personal relationship with God:

Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?"

The answer to having a personal and complete relationship with God:

Jesus answered and said to him, "If [anyone] loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and [We will come to him and make Our home with him.]"(John 14:21-23 NKJV)

Remember, Jesus came in flesh. He was no longer just a consuming fire, a shrouded cloud, or a voice in a whirlwind, He was reality. He was known.

I've have been asked how do I have a personal relationship with God? How do I pray? How do I know when He's speaking to me? Just as the verses in scripture above declare, it's love. But how do you love God?

The answer is one simple word: Personal. Personally desire to know Him. Personally desire to speak with Him. Personally desire to hear from Him. It's not what others are doing or saying; it's what YOU are doing and saying.

Get to know your God. Get to know your heavenly Father. Get to know your Lord and Savior...It's up to you. Here's there and has always been there, and through a personal relationship you will LOVE Him, rather than simply admire His work.

Religion is not in a book, and it's not just within. It's everywhere you see. Everywhere you speak. Everywhere you hear. Everywhere you stand. Everything you do. That's TRUE RELIGION, and true religion is LOVE.

Let us pray:

Our Father and our God. We thank you for Your Word, and the Truth that we can have a personal relationship with you. That we can know you, and speak with you, and walk with you. Help us to know you in that personal way, that no book could ever allow us to fully know You. Just as Your Word says, may we know You and Your Son in a personal way, and share with others this Good News. In Your beautiful grace, in Your amazing glory, we give you praise in the name of Jesus. Amen. amen.
