Jesus Christ, The Inner Man and His Outer Workings

“A conversation concerning Jesus, however light or heavy it may get, is still a conversation that the Lord will bless if prayerfully engaged in.” – F. Lugo

“You will know the truth and the truth will set you free...Apart from Me you can do nothing.” — Jesus

It is written of God who is the Lord: “This is what God the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it.” (Isaiah 42:5)

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1)

“In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.” (Psalm 102:25)

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Gods will is— his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)

“No matter the field you endeavor to succeed in and no matter what level of achievement you seek to accomplish, whether it be a bachelors, masters, PhD or Doctorate degree or you simply study a given subject apart from the University to gain knowledge and mastery in it, this is true of all. It takes, on that person’s behalf, a great deal of sacrifice and commitment towards knowing their given field and craft although their field continues to grow with new material and discoveries being made known every day. In short, you can never quite know it all, however, you will continue to learn, grow and become transformed by the knowledge you attain.”
– F. Lugo

How can we knowing the above, approach the subject matter of belief in Jesus Christ as the Risen Lord and God with, “I don’t believe?” With that being said, I now invite you into my HEART...

To say that very thing, “I don’t believe” with such quick callousness, without endeavoring to study and seek the truth out to its final conclusion, is to say that no subject matter is worthy of such study, effort and commitment. To say such a thing is to admit that your life is a complete waste, you don’t exist and the very conversation that is being had is in actuality not taking place.

Such line of thinking is preposterous, as even the study of the body in all its complexities and intricacies, reveals conception of life and the drive we all possess in our inner man and outer workings.

A dialogue between two men derived from the above:

Man 1: So I heard you write or teach about the Bible.

Man 2: Yup, that is what I do for a living.

Man 2: I firmly believe in educating people about God so they don’t remain ignorant of Him.

Man 1: Everybody has their thing they believe in.

Man 2: That’s true, but not everyone believes in that “thing,” based off of investing themselves fully into it, but rather having some general, vague, misconstrued notion of it that is biased and preconceived without proper investigation.

Man 2: Case in point. What you do for a living, you went to school to learn it right and you had to learn it from someone else? You didn’t end up one day deciding to hang around those who do what you are doing, for a day or two, and say this is what I do now and people allow you to perform it on them. You studied, you invested your time, you made a decision to seek the knowledge you needed to know what you know now and do now.

Man 1: True.

Man 2: And so it is with knowing God and Jesus Christ as Lord. You must choose. You must invest yourself. You must learn and apply. You have the power of choice and without choosing to do so as eternity is deposited within all of us, you cannot know Whom you came from and where you are going.

Man 2: As it is with heaven. The majority of people think you die and everyone ends up in heaven. How can such line of thinking exist? Do you not need to know directions on how to get somewhere? Do you not need to follow those directions or that individual or source that provided those directions?

Man 1: Yes.

Man 2: And so it is with heaven. There is but One who gave detailed directions concerning heaven and His name is Jesus. In speaking of heaven,  He said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. “Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man” and even more explicitly, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

From there the conversation was interrupted by the days proceedings. How do you think Man 1 will fair concerning such knowledge given him concerning God, Jesus Christ and heaven?

Pray for Man 2, He has his work cut out for him and wants will all that he is, to present Jesus Christ with intellectual enthusiasm to those who are ignorant (uneducated) of Him, that they will not come to the end of their life however long or short that may be, and not had been given the opportunity to choose wisely and informatively for themselves whether they would accept or reject Jesus as Lord.

I thank you and God’s grace and peace be with you. Amen.
