More of God and Less of Flavio

Beloved, I am in a place where God is the only One that satisfies me. I find it increasingly difficult to be away from His presence. What do I mean by this? For the past few months I have had a deep longing to know God in all of His ways. I have been blessed to know God in so many ways, and truly because of God and only God, I am truly alive. But I feel more and more like I’m dying. Not from some medical or terminal condition, but a longing deep in my bones to no longer know myself and only know God... (I now invite you into my HEART)

I read early this morning (being around 12:30am 1/4/13) these passages from the holy texts that pretty much sum up what I am going through:

As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
(Psalm 42:1-2)

Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
all Your waves and billows have gone over me.
(Psalm 42:7)

Beloved, sometime ago in 2011, I received such a wonderful vision from God, that I had to call the one who was closest to me, and share with them the words God spoke to me. God said to me that, “A tidal wave of love is coming!” Now looking to the passage in (Psalm 42:7) doesn’t it describe that? I am so excited, as indeed it does. Amen!

This I know! In order to experience God completely, we must be surrendered to Him completely. We must let go of ourselves completely. As a boxer who must be trained to the point they no longer know their ways, but only the ways of boxing deep in their bones, so must we lose ourselves in God in order to know Him completely. These extraordinary words by John the Baptist sum up such a surrendered life:

He must increase, but I must decrease.
(John 3:30)

And again, these words from the Apostle Paul, measures the surrendered life of one who desires to know God completely:

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
(Galatians 2:20)

If you find (and I know you do) yourself asking, “Is God is with me?” “Does He hear me?” “Why can’t I hear His voice?”

I urge you to take a look at these three questions.

1. Do you believe God is everywhere?
2. Do you believe God is all powerful?
3. Do you believe God is all knowing?

If you do, do you act accordingly? I know when I don’t act accordingly, I ask those doubting questions. When I do act accordingly, I hear Him consistently and know He is literally with me all the time; everywhere I go.

You may be asking yourself, What does act accordingly mean?  Put it like this:

•If you are willing to act the way you act everywhere you go, including church, then you are acting accordingly.

•If you would be willing to have your thoughts placed on a loud speaker for all to hear, that is thinking accordingly.

•If you are willing to believe God can accomplish the impossible as you see it, in your life and the lives of others, that is believing accordingly.

Now the all powerful God, this is where I have a longing to know Him. In order to know Him, I ask Him, what must I do and where must I go? I trust He will guide me to just that.

As the title of this invitation into my HEART goes, I invite you to put your name there now. More of God and less of _____________.

Where do you stand? I believe if you honestly ask yourself that, God will begin to be made known in your life as you will have begun to align yourself to experience His all encompassing presence. Amen.

Let us pray:

God, I want to experience your very powerful presence over all of my life. Remove what needs to be removed and add what needs to be added, then I can experience just that. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
